VERO BEACH – For a second time in four months, a sex offender in Vero Beach has hit different women in front of their children.
Vincent Lee Kahn, 28, allegedly hit a new victim in the jaw using his elbow. The victim’s two children, ages 3 and 4, witnessed the attack in Vero Beach.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Vero Beach Inn and Suites at 8797 20th Street about a disturbance.
The woman, who’s been dating Kahn for about two months, told deputies she was staying in a room when he arrived and took her two children near the swings area of the hotel.
After several minutes, she left the room and saw that the two children were left inside a vehicle where Kahn put them. She got upset because her children were alone without supervision.
Kahn and the victim got into the vehicle and began to argue. Kahn got upset and hit the victim on her jaw with his right elbow in front of her children, according to the report.
The victim said Kahn was never aggressive towards her children, but he followed her as she was trying to take them back to her room.
According to the victim, Kahn has hit her continuously for the past two months, but she has never called law enforcement.
In February, Kahn returned to the home of his ex-girlfriend who kicked him out and allegedly punched her and a four-year-old child.
“Today, a dangerous sex offender is off the streets and behind bars where he belongs. Kahn continued to harass the victim in this case after she made it clear that she did not want to date a sex offender,” Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated in February after his arrest.
Kahn was convicted of lewd or lascivious conduct with a minor under 16 in 2009.
Kahn was again arrested Wednesday for this latest incident in Vero Beach and transported to the Indian River County Jail where he was charged with Battery Domestic Violence, Resisting Arrest, and Felony Burglary Occupied Dwelling.
Bond set at $28,500.
