It’s going to be extremely hot, Wednesday, in Sebastian with a threat of afternoon thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 50 mph.
“Scattered thunderstorm development is expected this afternoon as the east coast sea breeze moves inland. Activity will begin along the southern Treasure Coast mid-morning, then increasing along Interstate 95 in the early afternoon, then westward across the interior in the mid to late afternoon,” the National Weather Service said.
The main threats today will be frequent lightning and wind gusts up to 50 mph with heavy downpours, according to the NWS.
Today the heat index could reach 102. The high will be near 92 with light winds 5 to 10 mph out of the east. The overnight low will be 74 degrees.
Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high near 93 and an overnight low near 75. The rain chance will decrease to 20 percent, and light winds will come out of the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.
Friday and Saturday are much of the same with sunny skies, a high near 92 degrees, and overnight lows near 76.
There’s a good chance for rain on Sunday, but it’s too early to predict. We’ll have another forecast later this weekend.
