Sebastian Gym & Fitness goes above and beyond to keep their members healthy. They have installed an APCO Air Purifier along with many other protective measures in preparation for reopening on Monday, May 18th, 2020.
On Monday morning, Barker Air of Sebastian is installing the APCO in the ductwork of the gym’s central air system to kill 99.9% airborne contaminants as they pass by.
The APCO has air cleaning technology that combines the power of UV-C light with activated carbon and photocatalytic oxidation (PCO). It eliminates toxic VOCs, odors, and microbial contaminants from the air and air system.
The benefits of this system include air purification, neutralizing odors & toxic VOCs, sterilizing mold, bacteria, viruses, allergens, improving indoor air quality, and inhibiting mold growth in the HVAC system.
In addition to adding the APCO Air Purifier Sebastian Gym & Fitness also sanitized top to bottom, added plexiglass protection for their employees, installed five hand sanitizing stations, added additional sanitizing bottles for equipment cleaning; there is now 1 bottle for every 2-3 pieces of equipment, and the floors have been cleaned with a hydrogen peroxide cleaner.
Owners Chris & Micki Discepolo have also been working on the cosmetics of the gym by painting, replacing worn-out vinyl, redoing their locker rooms, and adding a few new items to freshen the place up.
Rules
Everyone must bring a towel or purchase one, have their temperatures taken with an infrared No-Touch forehead thermometer, clean equipment after use, and practice social distancing by only using equipment that is 6 ft away from other members.
Members who are not adhering to theses rules will receive one warning; next, they will be asked to leave.
“We want people to be respectful of each other,” Micki Discepolo told Sebastian Daily.
Limited Hours
They will be open Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 9:00 pm, Saturday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, and Sunday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Well, it sounds like the owners of Sebastian Gym & Fitness have thought of everything possible to keep their members healthy & happy. We wish them the best of luck moving forward.
