A lot of people in Sebastian have had growing concerns over the weekend about Tropical Storm Dorian as it continues to strengthen in the Atlantic.
However, don’t worry because this storm may dissipate once it moves into the Caribbean Sea.
“When Dorian approaches Hispaniola in about 3 days, the models show an increase in sheer and those stronger environmental winds and the potential interaction with the rugged terrain of Hispaniola suggest that significant weakening is likely,” the National Hurricane Center said in a statement.
Keep in mind that anything can happen with this storm and we still encourage you to be prepared in case it doesn’t dissipate.
The storm, which formed last Saturday morning, is expected to bring tropical conditions to the Windward Islands later today. It’s moving west at approximately 14 mph with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.
Tropical storm warnings are posted for much of the Southern Caribbean, including Barbados and St. Lucia.
Forecasters are monitoring Dorian, and tropical storm watches could be posted for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands later today.
