While Sebastian will not experience hurricane-force winds, we will experience some storm surge along the waterfront, winds between 20-30 mph, and rain from Tropical Cyclone Nine.

The National Hurricane Center has indicated that the disturbance is expected to intensify as it potentially reaches major hurricane strength when it makes landfall on the northeastern Gulf Coast, including the Florida Panhandle and portions of the Florida west coast.

“The system is expected to intensify while it moves northward over the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and it could be a major hurricane when it reaches the northeastern Gulf Coast on Thursday,” the NHC said.

The timeline for landfall on Florida’s west coast could be Thursday morning, but we’ll know more when tracking has been updated.

Tropical storm conditions and potentially hurricane-force winds are possible over portions of western Cuba and the northeastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.

Sebastian Daily will provide regular updates on Tropical Cyclone Nine.
