Ski’s Hideaway in Vero Beach is definitely a must-try

We finally had a chance to visit Ski’s Hideaway in Vero Beach, right near the Indian River County Courthouse.

The owners, Jeff & Leita Wolski, live in Sebastian. Together, they bought a business in Vero Beach and turned it into a Chicago-style eatery that’s been a total success.

We don’t get down to Vero Beach that often, but when we do, we like to check out places like Ski’s Hideaway. There is nothing else like it in Sebastian or Vero Beach.

They provide indoor and outdoor seating. The service is fast, and the staff is friendly. We visited Ski’s on at least three different occasions, and they have been very consistent. We’ve never a bad meal.

Sweet Italian Sausage with chips
Sweet Italian Sausage with chips

The first meal I had was a Sweet Italian Sausage with chips. It’s char-grilled to perfection served with grilled onion and peppers on a toasted, fresh-baked French bread for $9.95.

I will order this meal again. Every bite had a ton of flavor, and the price is excellent.

Ski’s (OMG) Korean Chicken Tacos with sweet potato fries

My wife ordered the Ski’s (OMG) Korean Chicken Tacos. OMG is right! If you like spicey food, you will love these tacos served with fries for $9.95. She chose to pay a little extra and have the sweet potato fries.

The tacos come heavily portioned with thinly chopped chicken breast marinated in their unique blend of spices. The chicken is then seared on the grill to perfection and served on a flour tortilla topped with a mix of cabbage and cilantro. They topped them off with a drizzle of sriracha.

There was so much food; I ate some of the tacos too. It’s my wife’s favorite meal. If you like spices, you’ll love their Korean chicken tacos.

And now for my favorite!

Ski’s Chicago Style Italian Beef

You have to try Ski’s Chicago Style Italian Beef, highly recommended by owner Jeff Wolski himself. It’s slow-roasted for hours, thinly sliced, and served on fresh-baked French bread.

For this sandwich, you can have it served dry, medium wet, or straight up wet. I wasn’t sure, so I ordered the Au jus sauce on the side and then poured it on the beef as I ate.

I ordered sweet peppers and onions, which complements the sandwich. And if you like cheese, you can have that topped as well. I can honestly say you will not find anything else like it here locally.

The Ski’s Hideaway menu can be a bit overwhelming during your first visit but ask the staff for help. They are accommodating when deciding what to order. They also have a kid’s menu.

The restaurant serves beer & wine and other beverages such as Pepsi products, tea, coffee, and bottled water.

Tell the owners Jeff and Leita that Sebastian Daily sent you. They work very hard and are great people. We think you’ll enjoy the place, and it’s worth the trip to enjoy the Chicago-style food.

The restaurant is located at 1453 20th Street in Vero Beach. Parking is available behind the building. For more information, call 772-567-2311.
