We finally had a chance to see the local band Red Tide perform at the Captain Hiram’s Sandbar Friday night.

Red Tide is a Classic Rock band playing a lot of decent covers such as Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and Wild Cherry to name a few.

Our crew from Sebastian Daily arrived for their second set, and they sounded great playing tunes such as “Play That Funky Music White Boy” by Wild Cherry and “Brick House” by the Commodores.

Great drummer, guitarist, bassist, and singer.

Their cover of Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotions” could make Steven Tyler and Joe Perry grin.

Of course, the lead singer didn’t sound like Tyler, but he is good, and their instruments were right on queue.

Red Tide also engaged with the audience at the Captain Hiram’s Sandbar by playing their bass and guitars in the crowd as people took pictures with them. A big plus.

Great band for a lot of fun, and plenty of variety.

The band is also playing Saturday night.
