SEBASTIAN – The City of Sebastian and the Natural Resources Board presents the annual Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration will be held at Riverview Park on Saturday, April 27th, from 9 am- 4 pm. As always admission, children’s activities and take-home crafts are all free.
The Sebastian Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration will be a day of outdoor fun, entertainment, and learn how you can get involved. The event will showcase the work of local environmental groups, such as Keep Indian River Beautiful, S.E.A. a Difference, and the Sebastian Garden Club.
Opening ceremony and a Mayoral Proclamation will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Tai Chi demonstration. There will be live music performances by the Coaldusters, Little Dynamite, Jason Nail, and the Golden Ukes throughout the day.
For families, activities such as “Be a Gopher Tortoise,” Chalk Art Contest, and environmental-themed crafts will be offered. Be sure to stop by the Natural Resources Board (NRB) Booth and get your free raffle ticket for your chance to win door prizes. Also, at the NRB booth, kids can grab a Scavenger Hunt and register to win a new bike.
A variety of food and retail vendors will be on hand to ensure this will be an event for the entire community.
Sebastian’s Natural Resources Board is a volunteer board comprised of nine City residents. The Board meets in Sebastian’s City Hall Council Chambers on the first Tuesday of each month to discuss our City’s environmental concerns and assist the City staff in decisions regarding Sebastian’s natural resources.
The Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration is a free community event offered for the purpose of environmental education and outreach.
