Vero Beach woman arrested on stalking charges after leaving multiple messages on victim's voicemail.

VERO BEACH – On Friday, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a call about someone leaving voice mail messages and stalking.

Deputies met with the victim in Vero Beach who said a friend, identified as 49-year-old Ingrid Opgaard, had entered her home uninvited on July 4th and was asked to leave.

Opgaard eventually complied but has called her leaving numerous voice messages ever since.

The following are excerpts of voice messages left on the victim’s answering machine from Opgaard:

July 5, 2017 @ 18:31: “Hey guess what, sick or not sick, payback’s a bit** and I’m coming for you.”

July 13, 2017 @ 20:51: “Every time I heard you screaming at me in my head to ‘Get out’ I get a little angrier….. it’s not going away…”

July 14, 2017 @ 16:04: “I can’t be responsible for what happens once I send someone out with ‘a note’… bye friend.”

July 14, 2017 @ 16:27: “Allow me to apologize in advance for what my ‘note’ will deliver. You turned my love into hate. I’m sorry for what you deserve.”

July 14, 2017 @ 17:04: “Now this has become just fun. I’ll call you back in a minute because I KNOW you miss me terribly.”

July 14, 2017 @ 17:09: “Just wanted to talk to you now I’m gonna have to leave you ‘a note’. You’re such narcissists. You put yourself in this situation. Karma’s a bit**… It’s my job to show you. I can’t do it unfortunately ’cause I can’t drive. Fortunately, I have good friends to show what happens to people who treat me like sh**. “Get out of my house’ – It’s coming. Bit**”

July 14, 2017 @ 17:13: “Perhaps I wasn’t clear. Perhaps I’ve been sending riddles and rhymes. Yes you fu**ing hurt me. Yes I spent a year and a half trying to be your friend… I want that time back…. I’m gonna do what I have to to take back what’s mine. You already suffered your karma and it’s still comin’ bit**.”

July 14, 2017 @ 17:20: “Now I’m bored and washing my dishes… I heard you call me some nasty names in the background… Just consider what comes next your car.”

The victim found her vehicle with a slashed tire and believes that one of the messages from Opgaard referred to what happened by calling it “a note.”

Last Friday, the victim received 20 to 25 calls from Opgaard before contacting the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim says she experienced emotional distress from the messages she received from Opgaard.

Deputies located Opgaard in Vero Beach and arrested her on stalking charges.

On the way to jail, she told the deputy, “I’m going to get her back for this.”
