Brevard County officials tell Sebastian Daily the cause of death of a man found near a boat ramp in Grant last week was accidental drowning.
“According to the autopsy, it appears to be an accidental drowning,” said Tod Goodyear, Public Information Officer at Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office has not provided the man’s name.
Last Wednesday, a body was found in Grant in the water near a boat ramp. A witness discovered the body after spotting a canoe near Christenson’s Boat Ramp.
Deputies responded to the area at approximately 9:30 a.m., where the body was located just north of the man’s canoe.
Crime scene detectives worked the scene for several hours. There were no apparent injuries to the body.
