Humane Society of Vero Beach Adopted Out Nearly 100 Pets On Shelters Day

Clear The Shelters Day

Clear the Shelters Day was Saturday, August 17, 2019, and it was a huge success for the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County.

The local non-profit opened their doors last Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. in hopes of clearing the shelter of all of the animals in need of homes.

They put the word out that they would be waiving all adoption fees for the day, and watched as residents lined up at their doors.

It was the first time that the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County participated in Clear the Shelters Day, and it was a massive success.

There were a total of 97 pets adopted in full.

The higher adoption fee allows the center to help those animals that take longer to adopt out or require more medical help than others.

Patron Pets dog adoptions include a six month supply of heart-worm prevention.

Adoption Center visitation hours are Monday – Friday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
