This past Saturday, local enthusiasts swarmed Pareidolia Brewing Company, decked out in vibrant ’80s fashion, all in support of the Arc of Indian River County

Pete Anderson, co-owner of Pareidolia Brewing Company, expressed his gratitude to Sebastian Daily, “The outpouring of support for the charitable events we host never disappoints. We had a great turnout to support The ARC, with top-notch entertainment provided by The Robert Johnson Band and The Lagoonies. Revisiting the 80s was a blast.”

Kicking off the event at 1 pm, The Robert Johnson Band delivered a riveting performance inside the pub. With Robert Johnson taking the lead on vocals and guitar, joined by Chris Sadlers on bass, Mojo Mike multitasking on keyboards, guitar, and vocals, and Robert Taylor keeping the rhythm on drums, the band rendered iconic covers. The playlist ranged from legends like Iggy Pop, Modern English, Billy Idol, Prince, David Bowie, and the Eagles.

Following them, The Lagoonies took the outdoor sunset stage at 2:30 pm Interestingly, lead singer Will Brant, a ’90s kid, revealed that they had specially practiced ’80s hits for the event.

Both bands expertly transported the crowd back to the ’80s, a decade celebrated for its diverse musical spectrum. From pop, rock, metal to hip-hop and funk, the ’80s were all about exploring different sounds.

To add to the fun, attendees participated in a 50/50 drawing and flaunted their ’80s outfits in a spirited costume contest.

Indeed, the ’80s evoke a special sentiment for many. It was a time symbolized by mixtapes, the rise of MTV, and the boombox era. For many who lived through it, the decade’s music is a reminiscent journey to youthful days and simpler times.
