Project Overview:
The project aims to replace the existing Sebastian Inlet Bridge with a new structure that addresses structural deficiencies, improves safety for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists, and enhances the bridge’s resiliency. Additionally, the project will include:
- Resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation of State Road A1A from Sand Dollar Lane to south of the Sebastian Inlet.
- Improved drainage system.
- Increased vertical clearance.
- Wider shoulders and shared-use paths for pedestrians and cyclists.

- New crosswalks for safer pedestrian access.
- Fishing pier/observation walks on both the north and south sides under the bridge.
Project Timeline and Impacts:
The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is expected to be phased to minimize disruptions and maintain two-way traffic across the bridge at all times. Temporary lane closures may occur during non-peak hours.
